Antoine Tatum, Performer, Judge, Talent Consultant for the In the Spirit Entertainment National Competition
Antoine Tatum -Performer,Antoine is a Saginaw, Michigan native, and knew very early that he wanted to sing. In 1999 he attended Michigan State with a study of Elementary Education, and this is where his journey began when he accepted an offer for a ride from a friend, with only twenty dollars in his pocket and took the trip to Atlanta. Ultimately, changing his life, Tatum took his talent on the road and never looked back. His climb up the music industry included two years with a local Atlanta band, several showcases in New York, a trip to California with American Idol and all the usual suspects and dues.
Business: Vocalist, Groove Theorist the sensational singer songwriter Tony "Tee"Tatum. In 2005, became vocalist, background singer for Keith Sweat. In 2009, Manager for Sunday's best runner up Jessica Reedy. Tony has also worked with Melvin Williams of the Williams Brothers, Gospel Artist Jesse Campbell, and Quan Howell of Sounds of Blackness, and Entertainment Attorney Heather Beverly. Ezekiel is a native of Duncanville, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, Texas. Ezekiel was introduced to performing arts through his mother Dr. Paulette Hurd, a former educator at the Booker T. Washington School of Performing Arts in Dallas, Texas. He expresses his love for the arts as a Christian rapper, mime/dancer and actor. Ezekiel ran track for Sam Houston State University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He worked as an adult probation officer shortly before pursuing his law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas.
Community Service: Ezekiel was a member of the Dallas Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc. of America and was presented as a Beau in the 1992 Jack and Jill Beautillion. Ezekiel is a Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and committed to his Fraternity’s motto “Each One Teach One” as a committed mentor to the youth in his local community in Houston, Texas. While in law school Ezekiel was selected to work as a legal intern with the Houston Branch of the NAACP where he had the privilege of working in the presence of many great Houston leaders including now U.S. Congressman Al Green. While in his tenure with the NAACP Ezekiel was awarded the NAACP “Alex” Award for Legal Excellence named after U.S. Congressman Al Green. Ezekiel continues to volunteer his time through the NAACP to assist individuals in the community with issues of legal injustice.
Entrepreneur: Ezekiel owns and operates a private law practice in the Houston area where he represents various limited liability companies, for-profit corporations and non-profit corporations alike. Ezekiel’s passion is for entertainment law however he also provides legal representation in the areas of criminal defense, family law and probate. He is a Christian rapper who goes by the name “Lahjic” (logic), and released his first Album “T.H.E.Y. S.A.I.D.” with the group U/DCYDE in 2013. Lahjic is currently in the studio recording his first solo project. Ezekiel also performs as a Christian mime/dancer for Exult Praise, Inc. a Christian performing arts company founded by his wife Janna in 2011. As an actor, he has performed in various stage plays and has also done film work. His most recent performance was as “Uncle Bo” in the gospel stage-play “God Of Another Chance” at New Light Christian Church, Bishop I.V. Hilliard.
